Zoo Design Math Art


We've been given a second opportunity to show our understanding of Area and its connection with Multiplication through the Zoo Design assignment. 


For this task, our job is to create 5 zoo enclosures on grid paper (using rectangles). We need to write the dimensions of each rectangle (ex: 12 x 4) and the total area (ex: 48 units2), including the measurement, square units. 

For the Art part of the assignment, we need to draw a detailed sketch of each animal inside its enclosure, along with a background. We will also be marked on our neat colouring. We can show our creativity by adding other details like pathways through the zoo, washrooms, a gift shop, and a parking area. Ms Elder said that we can also use our imaginations and include imaginary/mystical animals.

We will be marked on both the Math and Art and they will go home after the school's Celebration of Learning Open House on Thursday, May 16 from 6:00-7:30 pm.
